Did the world start to go truly global in the 1980s? From “perestroika” for the super powers, to “outsourcing” for businesses and “24-7” for the time-conscious – it’s easy to make the case. Part of the decade’s character lives on, while another part doesn’t (dusty cassette tapes in boxes are evidence). In any case, time to brush up on words from this not-so-bygone era.
